One Day Delhi and One Day Jaipur Tour

Day: 1

The tour starts with pick up from your hotel anywhere in Delhi. Our driver will report at your hotel at agreed time and the tour will start from there. You will be driven in a private car exclusively just for you by experienced chauffer.

 

You will visit India Gate, formerly known as the All India War Memorial, is situated on the ceremonial axis of Rashtrapati Bhawan. The memorial was built to commemorate the death of 70,000 soldiers who died during World War 1 and the Afghan War. Names of British and Indian soldiers can be found on the walls of India Gate. Under the arch, lies the black stone and immortal flame that burns throughout the day and night.

 

Then we drive past through the residential estate of President of India, Rashtrapati Bhawan. The entire estate covers the area of 134 hectares and comprises of 340 rooms including the official residence of the president, halls and offices. The famous Mughal gardens located at the back of Rashtrapati Bhawan adds to the charm of the mansion.

 

Our next stop is Qutub Minar, one of the tallest buildings in the country. It is also a world Heritage Site. This 73 meters high tower is made of red sandstone and marble. The tower is the finest example of Indo-Islamic architecture. It takes 365 steps in total to reach top of the tower. The Qutub complex houses Iron Pillar which is of great metallurgical interest. Many people believe that if one stands in front of pillar with his back towards the column and encircle it with his arms, all his wishes will come true.

 

Also visit Bahai Temple also known as Lotus Temple for its flowerlike shape. It is a house of worship completed in the year 1986 under the supervision of Persian architect Fariborz Sahba. Lotus temple is made of pristine marble blocks, cement, dolomite and sand and the entire ascetic value is coddled by the group of nine pools filled with crystal clear water. In accord with the mores of Baha’i religion, the temple is open to everyone from anywhere in the world who is looking for inner peace and wants to break the shackles of trepidation.

 

Later we will visit Humayun’s Tomb. It was the first garden tomb of the Indian subcontinent. The tomb of Humayun was built by his widow, Biga Begum (Hajji Begum) in 1569-70, 14 years after his death, at a cost of 1.5 million rupees at that time. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the construction of the Taj Mahal.

 

Now, you will visit Old Delhi and first stop is Red Fort. The massive red sandstone structure served as the residence to the Mughal Empire for 200 years. Shah Jahan shifted his capital to Delhi and constructed Red Fort in 1648. The imposing wall of Red Fort houses numerous palaces and halls within. This majestic building is used by the Prime Minister as a platform to address the people of the Republic on the eve of Independence Day.

 

Board on a rickshaw and explore the intricate alleys of Chandni Chowk. While unwinding through narrow pathways we shall halt at Jama Masjid. Jama Masjid is one of the important mosques of the country and was built by Shah Jahan in the year 1650. The mosque was built in six years with the hard work of 6000 workers.

 

We shall then visit Raj Ghat to pay homage to Mahatama Gandhi. It is the memorial to the Father of the Nation. The black cenotaph with one immortal flame burns at one end. This great man had changed the phase of the Indian subcontinent with his strong ideologies.

 

You will finally return to your hotel in Delhi where your chauffeur will drop you after your first day tour of Delhi.

 

Day: 2 - Jaipur sightseeing

 

5:00 Am: pick up from hotel in Delhi

This itinerary wants a whole day, so it is for the best that you leave Delhi as early as possible. Your chauffeur will receive you by a car from your hotel in Delhi. While heading towards Jaipur, in the middle of somewhere you will get some refreshment or breakfast and from there continue on the trip.

 

10:30 Am: Amber Fort

This is fortified city, set on a hilltop outside the city. This fort has many halls, this fort can allow you an elephant ride, which could be the best moments of the life. You can see the reflection of this fort in the lake below. This fort is also well-known for its grandeur Sheesh Mahal. The crafted work done on the walls and the ceiling is really a thing to admire.

 

1:00 PM: Jal Mahal

As the name says, this water palace is situated in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. Perhaps, the lake gets dry in the summers and cherished in winters it becomes much stunning. Four out of five storeys are underwater.

 

2:00 PM: Lunch Break

Rajasthan is not only famous for its hospitality but also famous for the best Rajasthani food. You will be taken to any of the good restaurants, where you can have a nice lunch. And if you want to take some rest then you can have.

 

3:00 PM: City Palace

In the heart of old town lies the erstwhile residence of the royal family of Jaipur. Designed with a mix of Rajasthani and Mughal designs, the palace has sculpted arches and elaborately crafted columns. Two incised marble elephants guard the doorway. The palace homes a museum with an outstanding collection of Rajasthani costumes.

 

4:00 PM: Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is one of the largest astronomical observatories in the world. This observatory was built in eighteenth century and till now has its original charm. This is the place which is taken as the UNESCO world heritage sites. The observatory has innumerable astronomical instruments that allow you to see the astronomical positions with naked eyes.

 

5:00 PM: Hawa Mahal
It can say that Hawa Mahal is the second name of Jaipur, built-in 1799 A.D. Palace of Winds is counted amongst the major Rajput landmarks. This five-storey building is located on the main market of the old town is an architectural masterpiece with 953 finely constructed windows. It was originally planned to allow the royal ladies to look at the daily life and royal processions within the town - in absolute privacy.

 

6:00 PM: Back to Delhi
